COACH CHRIS BLAYLOCK

What made you get into martial arts?
I don’t think I ever made a conscious effort to become a martial artist but it clearly was supposed to happen. I grew up loving Jean Claude Van Damme movies, specifically Bloodsport and Kickboxer and pretty much never missed a big boxing ppv with my family. Boxing was definitely my first love as a martial artist.

Tell us about your journey/background/accomplishments?
In high school I started wrestling to get in better shape for baseball and ended up wrestling all four years and club wrestling while in the Navy. While in the Navy I began consistently training boxing with a side of Muay Thai and been training some aspect of martial arts since 2004.

What is your goal as a coach?
My goal as a coach is to be a positive representation of what martial arts can bring to a persons life. I’m excited to share my knowledge.

What makes High Altitude Martial Arts special?
I’ve been in training in the background of HAMA since mid 2008. While moving around I’ve trained at a handful of gyms but I’m always drawn back to HAMA. Our culture is one of the best and the product has shown to be solid time and time again.
