YOUTH “YETI” BJJ
At High Altitude Martial Arts, our Youth Jiu Jitsu program is designed to build strong, confident, and disciplined young athletes. Our classes provide a safe and encouraging environment where kids can learn the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while developing important life skills such as respect, perseverance, and self-control.
We offer age-appropriate training for children from preschool to their teenage years, ensuring each student receives instruction tailored to their developmental stage and skill level. Guided by experienced coaches, under Dalton Grinstead, our youth jiu jitsu program focuses on building a solid foundation in martial arts while promoting physical fitness and mental resilience.
The program focuses on instructing children in a positive and playful environment. Your kids will develop techniques and character development as they learn these martial arts. Kids learn the value of being helpful, self-disciplined, and respectful, in and outside of the academy. Classes include live training, games, drilling techniques, and coach-led discussions on martial arts life lessons known as “mat chats”. Youth classes are separated by discipline, age group, and experience level.
Our kids program is the perfect tool to help your child mature into an adult as they learn self defense skills. Your kids will learn to persevere, a skill that is valuable throughout the rest of their lives. Many of our kids compete in tournaments but instead of focusing on winning or losing, we focus on working hard, having fun, being proud of yourself for having a positive attitude, and continuing to grow in your martial arts journey.

YOUTH BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU CLASSES
Lil Yeti BJJ (4-6yrs old)
In Lil Yeti BJJ, we focus on introducing the foundational movements of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu through Gracie Games and fun drills. We teach discipline and respect, while nurturing these young students and passing on skills to become socially proficient Lil Yetis.

Yeti BJJ (7-12 yrs old)
In Yeti BJJ our students begin the study of fundamental Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, drilling everything from takedowns to submissions, this class builds a balanced foundation in BJJ. Students will practice dynamic partner drills and learn techniques in a realistic manner. They make friends while building confidence and discipline along the way. This is the perfect class for positive character development and personal growth.

Yeti BJJ Advanced (9-12yrs old)
In Advanced Yeti BJJ, we focus on instructing the older, bigger, or more technically advanced kids. This class is designed for students who are ready for more complex techniques and teaching methods. With high level drills and live training, this is also the perfect place to prepare for youth competition. Students are expected to play a more proactive role in their own learning. Our Youth BJJ culture has a track record of helping young students in their transition from child to young adult.

Teen BJJ (13 & up)
At High Altitude, our teens start to transition out of the Advanced Yetis class and in to our adult Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals program. We have a proven system for creating successful young adults, on and off the mat.
