COACH RICH MORQUECHO

What made you get into martial arts?
Growing up in San Jose California my father had us in traditional martial arts and Bruce lee movies and references were a thing, as I got a little older I gravitated to other sports and activities. Then as an adult I was in need of something different in life that’s when I stumbled upon high altitude martial arts and I never looked back.

Tell us about your journey/background/accomplishments?
When I first started at high altitude martial arts I began with both striking and grappling but I competed in a lot of jiu jitsu tournaments originally  even competed in an Ibjjf tournament in NYC with my younger brother that experience in competing in Harlem was a movie seriously . Then I started competing in striking, I began with smokers and kickboxing then ultimately MMA and now I’m getting to teach the techniques and moves  that have been passed down from Christian Allen  and Cody Donovan to the next generation of ninjas. One of my biggest accomplishments is that I’ve had the opportunity to get my brother on this path of Mixed Martial arts  and now we are on this journey to get him into the UFC.

What is your goal as a coach?
My Goals as a coach is to produce high  quality fighters, have the best amateur striking program in the world but also influence peoples lives by leading with passion and good intent

What makes High Altitude Martial Arts special?
This has been my home gym for 7 years now and I’ve met some of my best friends here. I’ve been blessed to coach and train full time and make this my entire lifestyle.
