Kicking and Punching into the New Year!

Kicking and Punching into the New Year!

Kickboxing is one of the best workouts for your body. It combines strength training with cardio, training muscles while burning fat in those super hard to reach places. It transforms your body quickly…and is so much fun!

At High Altitude Martial Arts, you are partnered up. You don’t get to hit a bag of beans that doesn’t hit or talk back. This keeps the session fun and interactive. Your partner will help you and encourage you. Sometimes you have to dig real dip to find that motivation but with a teammate/partner/friend, it is a lot easier.

  • Toning – Tone your entire body. From arms to legs to core, you will work it all out. There is no area of your body that will not be worked out. Your muscle mass will develop and your body fat percentage will lower. Kickboxing is truly a full body workout. You burn calories while strengthening muscles. Kickboxing is high intensity and high impact workout, you are constantly working.
  • Self Defense – You’ve heard the phrase “you are your own first responder” right? Well, it’s true. You need to learn to protect yourself until you can get away or until help arrives. Kickboxing consists of many practical use skills and techniques. Learning a skill while working on your fitness is a win win.
  • Stress Reliever – Nothing quite like punching or kicking the stress right out of your life (figuratively of course). Kickboxing helps with anxiety, depression, and overall stress management. Forget your everyday stressors while you are working out. You won’t be able to think of anything else. You will be consumed with the task at hand. We all deserve that hour to decompress. It’s a great form of therapy without having to speak. Let that bad energy go and be the best version of you when you leave.
  • Energy & Endurance – If you felt tired after the warm up, you are not alone. It will take some time to build up the endurance to crush the class. Yes you will be tired after class but you may have more energy after class than when you started. Kickboxing increases blood flow to various part of the body and sends messages to awaken the brain. Over time, your stamina will improve and you won’t feel as drained during class.

Contrary to popular belief, Kickboxing is not only for those who want to fight or become MMA fighters. Kickboxing has many great benefits and provides a well balanced work out for anyone.
